Creating Your Own World, The Law of Attraction in Action#2, Meditation

As part of the main purpose of this blog series, let’s take a look at one of the major tools in creating our own world [What we really want?]  Meditation

What is the biggest mistake people make about Meditation?  They think they can’t do it!

For 10-15 years I went through life believing that I couldn’t meditate! I read about how important is was to our well being but I would read the procedures and get quiet and play [meditating music] and get frustrated and then just give up and quit trying! Books didn’t help much.

What did help was finding somebody who was willing to take the time to tell me what to EXPECT and  what not to EXPECT! That led me to the knowledge that I had been meditating all those years after all.

A brief simple formula for meditating:

1. Find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed.

2. Sit or recline in a chair.

3. Take 3 deep breaths and slowly exhale, continue breathing normally

4. Play whatever kind of music that calms you the best and listen to the different        sounds of the music. Try to identify all of the different instruments. Listen for the different melody or rhythm strands in the sounds. [check out Deuter, 2002, Secret Garden].

When you “quiet your mind” you are bringing your subconscious forward. This is where your answers to questions, messages and guidance come from.

WHAT are you supposed to see, hear, learn while meditating? Immediately maybe nothing! A day later or a week later or more you may have a dream or a vision or hear a voice or have a “feeling” about something going on in your life.

Regular meditating lets your body know that on some routine you are going to completely rest and allow it to “talk to you about everything it wants and needs to”. It will reward you with better health, wealth, and happiness! Certainly worth the effort!!

PS. Start with just 5 minutes a day or at a time if you have to and work up to longer times to treat your body and mind to a REST/TIME OUT!

NOTE: If you have a question or comment, go all the way down to the end of this blog and you’ll see a box for leaving a comment.  Suggestions and questions are welcomed!

Meditation has become very popular these days – with various apps etc. – as people try to gain some spiritual balance in their lives. I am certainly one of them, and I’ve run into the very obstacle that you’ve written about here. Namely…is this working? I am getting relaxation out of it, no doubt, but where are the transcendental effects? Thanks for explaining that the effects can come later, or are maybe cumulative. I will curb my initial disappointment and keep trying!

    • Definitely keep on meditating. When we are in the Vortex so to speak , that state of consciousness where you aren’t thinking about the past or the future and you are thinking in the moment healing takes place and also manifestations of your dreams and desires. Keep following the blog for more suggestions about successful meditating!

Meditation was popular in the 60s and 70s. That is where I got my start. It is a beautiful thing !

    • Thank you for responding to my blog! Meditation is even more popular now than it was back then. Medical research shows that we heal faster when we are in a low stress environment. Depression problems decrease with people who are meditating regularly. I also recommend “Reiki”. Google it. I’m Level 2 Practitioner now and studying for Level 3 Attunement in March.
