YOU ARE WHAT YOU THINK! Part 1

If you are what you think, then it follows that you need to be careful and mindful when you do your thinking! BUT WHY are you “what you think”?

We’ve heard all of our lives to “think positively”! Right! How many people have ever told you to “think negatively”? None of your true friends will tell you that and there’s a very good reason!

The law of attraction works! Like attracts like! So positive thoughts attract positive conditions and negative thoughts attract negative conditions. So in a sense we are creating our own reality (or our appearance) of reality.

Why would we want negative conditions in our lives? What good could that bring?

I’ll discuss that in Part 2.  Meanwhile, live in the moment!

On Death and Dying

“For all things there is a season……….and a reason.” Think about it! Spent some time with friends tonight that are having to make decisions about feeding tubes, Hospice or not, pain management, restraint or not……….home or not……….and on and on. Decisions having to be made by people (family members and dear friends) as to what is “best” for a dear loved one.

Bottom line question to ask: What would the patient (dearly loved one) really want if he/she could make the decision?

Main Point:  ALL PEOPLE SHOULD MAKE THESE KINDS OF DECISIONS BEFORE THE CRITICAL MOMENT ARRIVES!!!!!! PUT THE DESIRES AND WANTS IN WRITING ON PROPER FORMS AND HAVE THEM Notorized! OR AT LEAST VERBALLY TELL FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHAT YOU DO AND DO NOT WANT.

Another important thought: Don’t make a lot of demands as to what must be done or not be done about your funeral or money or property or whatever you are leaving behind. When you are dead, you are dead! Living is for the living! Let those that are left behind do the best they can and not be burdened with all kinds of details!

Hospice is one of the best friends you can have in later years. I took one of the first Hospice Volunteer training courses in the United States over 30 years ago. I did volunteer work for years with Hospice for years before moving on to other groups such as Alzheimer’s groups. Ask your doctors and nurses about Hospice!

BUY AMERICAN! SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! ENJOY LIFE!

It is but it isn’t funny about “near death” experiences! I recently had a “brush” with what could have been a deadly experience or maybe a really life changing experience! It made me stop and think about what I have and what all I could lose in a flash of a minute! Alas! I don’t know of anything I want to lose or stop enjoying! I thought about what other things I want to do before I die and so I’ve made another “bucket list”!

ABC News did a special segment last week about “made in America”. It seems that everything (over 90%) you and I buy and use in our lives is made somewhere else, not on USA soil and not by USA citizens. And a lot of those things so-called made in America are “assembled” in the USA from parts made somewhere else!

LET’S TURN THINGS AROUND! MANUFACTURE HERE! BUY “MADE HERE”! ENJOY LIFE HERE! BE PROUD HERE!

THEN ENJOY BEING THERE!

LIVE IN THE MOMENT! IT MAY BE YOUR LAST!

Last weekend I had a “brush with death”! It could have been one of those “last times” episodes we’ve talked about in this blog! Fortunately it ended well, and I’ll have more chances for living in the moments!

Take note! All generics do not react in everybody’s physical body the same way, so when you change suppliers or makers of different drugs be very careful and alert that your body may rebel and act differently. In my case, it was a blood pressure issue………….blood pressure went up and had dizzy spells……….a quick change to a “brand name” drug put my body back in a “happy mood” and I’m doing fine.

Be alert if you are a caregiver, nurse, or friend of people taking medications………all BRAND names don’t react the same way either!

Flashes of “this could be my last chance” to do what? That’s the point, if you wait until that “last chance moment”, you won’t be able to think clearly or be able to do and say the things you want to say! So say them today! Tell those you love and care about that you love them! Tell them how much their lives have made yours better. Smell the roses! Look at the sunset! Sing that song!

“Love, Faith, Hope and Charity!” and the greatest of these is LOVE!

“May the sun shine always on your face and the rains fall gently on your fields, and may you always love and be loved!”

The most important things that people want!

Not money and not fame!

Love and (to be understood) are the 2 major things that people want and need to be happy! Money and fame can’t bring you either!

How Do You Know YOU Love Somebody?!

YES! Got some good comments about “How do you know somebody loves you?” NOW let’s look at the other side of the question. See title above.

From comments of these two views I will summarize “both sides of the coin” in a post this week.

Right up there with “loving unconditionally”, stands the “giving unconditionally”!  Both are equally hard to do!

How do you handle these situations…………..give your story………..let others profit by your experience!  Comment Please!

It’s How You Say It!

On asking for “favors”, the Bigger you make a small favor sound, the more willing people are to help you out! Zits Comic Strip Logic! Another way to look at it is, show people what THEY are going to get out of it and they are more likely to help you out!

“Dead by Midnight!”

Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight. Extend to them all the care, kindness, and understanding you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again.  Og Mandino
