Since Martin Luther caused a revolution in the Church of the World in his day, most people have believed that we do not have to have someone to go to GOD for us. We can and should go directly to GOD ourselves.
Most Christians believe that Jesus Christ is the son of GOD and that only through believing that He is the Son Of GOD and being baptized can one be saved and allowed into Heaven. And here in lies the rub: If one does not believe that then they are doomed and condemned to hell fire and damnation.
So then the freedom to believe what you may feel in your heart is the truth about our creator and salvation and forgiveness and eternal life does not exist for you if you are saved only if you believe what “they” believe.
I believe that to be not only arrogant but also hypocritical!
So what is one to do? I also believe that no one has the right to tell me or you what is the truth. The truth for them may not be the truth for me or you! True freedom of religion would mean that all peoples would be allowed their religion based on whatever they believe to be the truth in their hearts. And as long as they lived and died being true to those beliefs then they would have lived a life well lived and expect whatever comes when we leave this Earth to be their full right as well as anybody else’s.
I believe in living a positively based life that believes that our GOD made us in HIS/HER image and wants us to be HAPPY. We are here to learn why we are so special having been made in the creator’s image and likeness. And knowing that, we realize that it is our goal to return to the essence of our Maker fully aware of our great privilege and reward.
Therefore, I bless and embrace all peoples and their beliefs/religions. If they do not allow me the same courtesy as I allow them, then I bless them and let them go their own way. I have no right to deny them their beliefs as well as they have no right to deny me mine. And I also have the right to remove myself from their self-righteous indignation’s and arrogant judgements and go my own way.
And may GOD have mercy on all of our souls!
Amen!
