OUR ROADS ! are in terrible shape! We have new local taxes and now Federal Taxes to improve our “inner structures”.

OUR SCHOOLS! are old and not big enough for so many new students. Let’s raise taxes to fix all of those issues!

OUR CHURCH’S! WE must reach more people and start a “private school” and save them from the world! Let’s save more people and double tithing’s and make all of this happen.

AND GUESS WHAT?! NOTHING CHANGES! DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY?

THROWING MONEY at something doesn’t change anything!!!!! If you don’t improve the underlining problems nothing including more money will help!

PENNY DREADFUL/THE KILLING/TV SERIES UPDATE

QUALITY EVERYTHING IN THESE TWO SERIES!

Great acting/Dark Shadow filming/fascinating content!

PENNY DREADFUL…………. I had never heard of it before so I didn’t have a clue as to what it was about………….and I’m not going to spoil it for you, BUT

You’ll find out what Penny Dreadful is and the first season is a super trip into the “old London of Jack the Ripper” with the addition of figures from the supernatural. Timothy Dalton, Josh Hartnett and Eva Green star as 2 – 3 layered individuals . There is nudity and some of the scenes can be “look away quickly” (but you won’t be able to not look right back)! Werewolf’s, demons, Frankenstein, and more. Something for everyone! Ha!

I couldn’t wait to get to the next episode and the next and the next. Season 1 ends with plenty of new possible story lines! And of course a cliff hanger.

I have already pre-ordered Season 2!!!!  Showtime feature.

The Killing………….season 1…………..and season 2 were available on TV 2011/2012

I had seen most of Season 2 but the ending wasn’t very clear but I enjoyed it so much that I was curious about Season 1 and ordered it 6-8 months ago. After finally getting around to watching it, “Who Killed Rosie Larsen?” I was binge watching after the first episode!!!!!!!!!! IT is an amazingly mind-boggling story of “who done it?”. Every time you think yep, this time they have the right person……….WRONG!  So for 13 episodes I rushed at a 3 episode per night frantic to find out “who really did kill Rosie?” I got set on that night to watch the final season 1 episode and to my alarm and extreme disappointment (in my mind I used other and stronger language!!) Season 1 did not end with a cliff hanger………season one did not end the story. I understand that half way through season  2 the murder will finally be solved and start out on the next one.

AFTER CHECKING AROUND ON THE INTERNET I  DISCOVERED THAT I WAS NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO (USED DIFFERENT WORDS IN THEIR MIND TO REFLECT THEIR FRUSTRATION AND DISAPPOINTMENT………REALLY MAD THAT THE FORMAT THAT USUALLY TAKES PLACE WAS CHANGED! WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT TO US? Follow the money I’ll bet!!!!!!

O.K. I’m calmed down now…………so get ready……………..I was so mad I went on-line and ordered Season 2 on rush order so that I can find out “Who Killed Rosie”!!!!!!!

The sad thing is the series is JUST THAT GOOD!!!! I COULD NOT KEEP from WATHCHING……………….AND…………….I plan on getting season 3 and 4!!!!!

The character development is so good that you immediately get involved with each one. The lessons learned about what a tragedy can do to a family are price.less The acting is super good!

Pitiful I am!!!!……….addicted to the series I am!!!!!!!!………..I admit it! Now that ‘s my story and I’m stick’n to it!

Everybody Needs Their “Hallmark Channel”

I’ve been reviewing some TV shows and also DVD’s of TV Series for a while now so my regular readers know how I feel about the Hallmark Channel and the types of shows/series that they provide.

I ENJOY DARK MATERIAL LIKE CRIME  AND MURDER MYSTERIES. WHY!?

I’ve thought long and hard about that:

1. Life is not all roses and cream! If you live in a bubble of protection of total goodness, how do you know how to appreciate the good in your life if you don’t know the bad in comparison?

2. Everybody has dark thoughts………….don’t deny it! BUT most people don’t ACT on them! That’s the difference, you hear the voice in your head but you just tell it to shut up and leave you alone. And then you think, “There but for the Grace of God go I!”

3. You see/hear of somebody who has done a really bad deed or been the victim of one terrible crime and you think, “thank God it didn’t happen to me and mine”!

4. Those people who can learn from other people’s mistakes are the lucky ones! Reading, seeing, hearing about dark subjects is better than living them in person!

AND I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT TOO MUCH DARK CAN HURT YOU! SO I CAME UP WITH SOMETHING TO BALANCE IT OUT! YES, THE HALLMARK CHANNEL!

When watching something like “True Detectives or Plenty Dreadful” I will watch one or two episodes and then switch to something I’ve recorded on the Hallmark Channel!  It balances it out and I don’t get sad or depressed from being exposed to too much DARK.

I recommended the Hallmark Channel to a friend of mine as a buffer for the dark programs but was informed that the Hallmark Channel just didn’t work for him………..and I understand that , BUT I stand by my statement, “Everybody needs their (Hallmark Channel) whatever form or subject that might be!!!!!!!!!!!”

Book Review: The Hunger Games Versus The Queen of the Tearling

I’m always interested in a book/series when a reviewer says, “The next Hunger Games”!!!!

After finishing The Queen of the Tearling, it’s evident you can’t compare the two! The Hunger Games is totally believable and The Queen of the Tearling borders on fantasy.

THE QUEEN OF THE TEARLING, is extremely well written! It will not replace The Hunger Games franchise as the next big thing! It might make a good movie but it will not make the big money as a movie franchise. The books in the series however, will do very well as sales go. So why won’t the new series take down the old one?

1. The Hunger Games has a love triangle. The Queen of the Tearling isn’t so far….book 1

2. The Hunger Games is totally believable.  3. Fantasy loses out to reality every time. 4. The heroine is good but she is no Katnese (sp)? 5. Nobody yet has topped the “Hunger Games”! And at least 3 big sales contenders have tried so far.

I’ve finished book 1, book 2 comes out in June/2015 3. out later…….and note both book heroines names start with a “K”……………..

I plan on ready the complete series because book one is well written and it has a very good storyline. It also has some humor and many “lessons to be learned”! You will begin to really care about “Kelsea” and the Yearlings and want to find out just how far she and they can go in “bringing back the old/new world after the “crossing”!

Get it! Read it and debate me!  I dare you!

UPDATES, TV, MOVIES AND THE HALLMARK CHANNEL IN PARTICULAR

HC: Season one of “The Good Witch” just ended. At the beginning of the season review I said that, “Nobody can be as good as the character, “The Good Witch!” However, after viewing the whole season, I’ve decided that if everybody tried to be that good……….WOW! What a wonderful world this would be.

Season One was good……..typically the good people win and the bad people lose! And lots of good lessons can be learned by all ages who take the time to watch.

UPCOMING  HC: Season 2 of “When Calls the Heart”……first episode was last Saturday night……………and new episodes every Saturday night for a while. Also this weekend a series of Mother’s Day movies will be showing………………worth you time to view these too.

“Cedar Cove” will be back this summer………………AND probably some good old Father’s Day movies too!

Movie:  “Boyhood”……………………..great movie and stands alone in a class of psychological studies  of how people age over time (12 years)! Amazing study of progression.

Books! Read anything you can find about ” The  Quantum Theory” and the NEW WAY TO PRAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m working on 5 books and will review them on my blog soon. Make comments on questions you may have about specific books. The “old physics” versus the “new physics”………………Newton versus “The Matrix!” Stay tuned!!!!!!!!!!!

As we head into the summer get the jump on everybody by reading the NEW “Hunger Games” wannabe!  THE QUEEN OF TEARLING (1st of a trilogy……book 2 out June 9th! Emma Watson has bought the rights to film book 1……………..so hit the book store fast!!!!!!!!!!

INTO THE WOODS AND BIRDMAN…..MOVIE REVIEWS

If you really like either of these two movies my review may offend you! Spoiler alert!!!!!!

“INTO THE WOODS”,  Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Chris Pine (unrecognizable), Johnny Depp, Anna Kendrick (think she was in Pitch Perfect)…….children’s stories inter-tangled and changed…….Sondheim music…………..so what’s not to like!?

Meryl Streep sings VERY well! I heard she worked for months with a voice coach in preparation! AND it works! As usual her acting is great too! Emily Blunt and Anna Kendrick do great acting jobs too! Johnny Depp’s part is so small if you blink you may miss it! The Giant is a woman (Mother of the slain male giant of ole!) The photography in spots is blurred ( to me anyway ). The theme of (no one is alone is strong and true and meaningfully presented). Sondheim music is good but it isn’t (Send in the Clowns)! I didn’t leave the movie wanting to “See it again.” Sorry!

BIRDMAN or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)……. now I’m just gonna be blunt. I didn’t like it! IT IS innovative! Michael Keaton should have gotten the Academy Award for his performance. Edward Norton did a great job of acting as he always does! Emma Stone as the Birdman’s daughter is great!

Some of the words on the DVD cover are, BRILLANT!………….and it may be.  PHENOMENAL…………..not so sure about that. HILARIOUS!..NOT TO ME! I don’t enjoy seeing/living through somebody else’s pain. That just isn’t my idea of funny!

Parts of the movie appear disjointed. The flying Birdman  doesn’t work for me during the whole movie!!!

Oh, I did just remember a really “Brilliant” part in the movie: the scene with the bathrobe at the stage door! And I will gladly admit that scene and idea were brilliant.

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen two movies in one month that I just didn’t like. I’m easy BUT…………maybe I’ve been watching too many “Hallmark” movies!

True Detective….TV HBO Review..Touch Darkness and Darkness Touches You BACK!

An exceptional piece of ART! Everything about this project is top-notch!

Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are at their very best acting in their careers! The supporting cast is not as well-known but the casting crew really nailed it! The photography , the scenery (New Orleans area), and the music (T.Bone Burnett) is right on!

If you like a good murder crime mystery THIS is for you!

A few pointers: 1. I could only watch one episode at a time………….too intense!  2. You might want to watch each episode twice ( a lot goes on in the hour long episode!) 3. The Bonus Features are worth watching too! 4. Invite several people you know who like this kind of entertainment and let them enjoy it with you. After each episode, spend at least an hour talking about it! Super entertainment!

BOOK REVIEW, THE URANTIA BOOK

2097 PAGES…….copy written and published in 1955.

I bought my copy in 1976……………over the years I’d pick it up and try to read it. For some reason I just never was able to “get into it”………….I’d look at the “index”………..I’d look at the different “Parts of the book” and then “The Titles of the Papers”………..I’d read a few pages and then give up on it again!

UNTIL 2 MONTHS AGO! Along with working on the Proof of Heaven Book Club, for some reason I got The Urantia Book out again and started reading: The Lucifer Rebellion……………and now  I am into The History of Urantia (Earth). It looks like now I will finally read the whole thing at last!

However, I have a lot of questions and wonderings and opinions about this book!

I would like to add a thread about “the Urantia” on my blog. Is there anybody out there that would like to answer some questions via this medium (someone who has read or is reading it and knows a lot about it)?  The story of evolution of  the Earth, the fall of Lucifer,  many papers about the life of Jesus, the evolution and journey from the seeds of life to the present day mankind…………..some really heavy stuff here!

HALLMARK UPDATE MARCH 23, 2015

“PROBLEM SOLVED: The Hallmark Channel does not broadcast in HD!!!!! Here we can get one free with our subscription…..The Hallmark Channel which has the morning show at 10:00-12:00 noon during the week. And then movies on Sunday evenings or Saturday evenings when series like “Cedar Cove” and “When Calls the Heart” are not running. The series, “The Good Witch” is playing now with the other two coming soon.

The other Hallmark Channel is the Movies and Mysteries. As I said, “It isn’t in HD either.

So I’m not going to pay for the other channel!

Look for Mother’s Day movies in May and in June, Brides Day movies. Early in April, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO VEIW BOTH HALLMARK CHANNELS FOR FREE FOR THE WEEKEND.

All of you people out there that love the Hallmark Channel…………write them, call them, text them and let them know that WE WANT HD ON OUR HALLMARK CHANNELS! THEY HAVE TO BROADCAST PROGRAMS IN HD TO THE STATIONS  IN ORDER FOR THE STATIONS TO SEND THEM TO US IN HD! 

Note: It costs more to broadcast in HD, but  “IF WE CARE ENOUGH TO WATCH THE VERY BEST, THEN WE WANT TO SEE IT IN HIGH DEFINITION!

THE MAZE RUNNER/JAMES DASHNER/BOOK/MOVIE REVIEW

A GREAT 4 BOOK SERIES ABOUT “LIFE AFTER THE FIRE” AND WHAT COULD HAPPEN IF AND WHEN!

The book series is just as good as The Hunger Games and could have been a great movie series, but we’ll have to wait and see on that score! The movie of the first book, The Maze Runner was a LOW BUDGET,  dark filmed, attempt at a great movie that left a lot of the book OUT! If I hadn’t read the book first I’m not sure I could have followed the movie. I’ve heard rumors that book two, The Scorch Trials, will be made into a movie too………we’ll wait and see.

To topple The Hunger Games movies, you’d have to have a super leading male or female plus the love interest just as intriguing, but YOU WON’T FIND IT  here. The acting is pretty good but the actors are not quite strong enough to carry the film. You won’t see a “Jennifer Lawrence” here!

Having said the above, get and read the books! Then go ahead and give the first movie a go…………………..and decide later if you want to see a 2nd and 3rd movie!

The author, James Dashner is a Georgia boy and has written another series called The 13th Reality Series (I haven’t read that one yet). And a new series about “life in a matrix! (I’ve read the 1st two and the jury is out.)
