MORE Jessie Stone movies are coming from the Hallmark Channel! They have ordered another movie, 9th one, Lost in Paradise for this fall season….and hinted at more to come after that.
Here we get two channels, one without HD and the other one that is HD but by subscription only. Does anyone understand the difference? Is HD the only difference OR is the content completely different on the HD channel? The Hallmark website doesn’t give any information about the situation!
I thought that the Hallmark Channel WEBSITE gave a lot of information about programing, but when I actually went there I was disappointed! I think they are missing a really good opportunity to bring TV watchers on board by not having more information about upcoming programs and movies.
I also thought I would never have any slightly negative comment about any of their programing BUT, The Good Witch is just too good to be true for me! I know that the title is “The Good Witch”, but nobody including witches can be that totally good! The series is good, and there are plenty of great lessons to be learned from watching it but the lead character is too perfect in my opinion!

Every Saturday night a new movie premieres. Don’t know how long they will be able to keep that up but some mighty good movies have already premiered this year!
A great way to enjoy the Hallmark Channel is to record the series and the movies and then save them until you need something really good to watch and then sit down, get a cup of coffee or tea and a biscuit or two or three and settle in for a treat……………..and yes, even the commercials are good!

TAKING and giving advice / Two of the hardest things in life to do!
We have discussed this in several Life’s Lessons before from different angles. ( see Archives) over the last few years.
do people ask for advice in the first place? Hopefully they want as much information as they can get about the subject in order to make the “best choice” / YES, the one reality out of many that suits their purpose toward happiness!
HOW do they know if they are making or can make the “best choice”? If they follow the rule, “Go with your gut, your heart, or what you just know is the right choice!” then chances are they are picking a “good choice”! Not the only choice mind you, but one of the better choices for success.
BUT, how do people respond to your advice? They ask for your input, your advice hoping that you know something they don’t they will help them make a good choice. BUT, what they really want is for you to agree and or to confirm what they have already decided is the best choice at the time. Notice that when you contradict one of their “beliefs” about the situation: they bristle and become defensive. Although this rattles them and makes them want to flee before you change their minds…………..it is actually helping them to confirm to themselves that what they are leaning toward as the right choice really is the best choice at the time for them to make. By being the Devil’s Advocate you have helped them as they had hoped you would………….they may back away from you and never ask your advice again ………..or be smart enough to understand the true role you played in the transaction!
TRUTH: It is beneficial to repeat here that there are no BAD choices, you will learn from every choice you make…………….and on some of the BIG ones, you may take (the hard road of hard knocks). And yet, you still will learn……get banged up knees……but you’ll learn.
SO, give and take advice if you will………………..AND be strong enough to learn and appreciate the give and take involved. Otherwise, just crawl in a hole and protect yourself!

The phone rang. From the other room I heard, “Oh, my! I am so sorry. Which hospital?”
When you hear those words you know something bad has happened!
A very good friend of ours had been in a wreck and was critically injured! There was a good chance he would die from his wounds and he did 2 days later.
It all happened so fast! No chance to go to the hospital to say goodbye or console the family. Nothing about the wreck or the funeral plans appeared in the local papers. It was just like being shut out of something very personal without any plan of action available. He was just gone! Where would the funeral be held? Where would he be buried? Who was there to care and look out for the family?
Jim was not family. He was a loyal friend and a valuable resource for construction work and built some additions for us. He was honest and faithful to being a good person. Many people knew they could rely on him to do great work for them at reasonable prices! All in all he was a great man and will be missed by many people.
The point here is that in life, these situations happen more frequently than we would like to admit! Here today, gone tomorrow.
The lesson is that nobody knows when their time to die will come. When you like people and appreciate them, let them know as if you might never see them again……………..and chances are you never will!
Don’t wish you had and didn’t!!!!!!!!!!!
IT IS AMAZING how reading one book can lead us from that effort on to many more topics of interest!
When I read Proof of Heaven several months ago I concluded that it was a monumental book. The companion book, The Map of Heaven joined it as information that I find not only compelling but leading me on to other areas of interest.
A group of us had a Book Club meeting to discuss our ideas about what the books did and did not do as to affecting our beliefs in life after death. We concluded that the books did not change our beliefs but confirmed them and that would be enough, so end the book club.
But, meeting in individual groups of two/three to further discuss the books we found out a lot about each other and what our backgrounds were and what had led us to what we believe. Tarot Cards, Life Readings, Channeling, Psychics, Karma, etc., and what if any experience we had in these areas. That led to what our religious beliefs are and how true we were to the religion we were “born into”. We found a lot of variations in the members of the Book Club.
One of the members loaned me a copy of a film that “she thought I was ready for”………..And it turns out that I was and am! The film, The Living Matrix adds insight into our bodies, minds and health. It covers the involvement of quantum physics of the human body-field, heart coherence and informational healthcare. It touches on the theory of how instant healing takes place. The future of medicine is VERY BRIGHT! And it will be very different. Eventually we will understand that there is no conflict between science and religion.
SO what is the next step? I have ordered 5 books about THE LIVING MATRIX. I want to learn more about fine tuning the 5/6 senses that we have and mostly don’t use. I want to understand how and why prayer works. I want to understand how we can do and be so much more than we ever dreamed we could be.
I will continue to report our “findings” in the Proof of Heaven Book Club but, if I have 10 people who would like to have a more detailed version of the book club updates in the form of a separate blog, I’ll start one up and we can travel and learn on the road of The Living Matrix together.

As I’ve said before, it all started with The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo! I figured that there had to be other great writers “across the waters” and I’ve found at least 7 so far……….and I’m sure there are many more. There is just something about the mystery of the unknown terrain and the different writing styles of the authors!
It’s been a long time since I started a book and literally could not put it down! And for those of us who read a lot, that is like finding a golden nugget!
I’ve read 4 books now by Karin Fossum and all four are real “page turners”! HE WHO FEARS THE WOLF, DON’T LOOK BACK, THE WATER’S EDGE are some of the earlier books in the series about inspectors John Sejer and Jacob Skarre. These give you an understanding of the background stories of the central characters in all of the books.
As much as styles varie among great authors, within the category of murder mysteries so do vary the themes of the different series. Karin Fossum has great insights into the psychological minds of the murders and also the victims and the reasons both arrive at the same location and time to make the events happen. Reading each of Fossum’s books enlightens the reader with reasons why people are what they are and why they react as they do with the prospect of understanding leading to prevention.
If you want a series of books to latch onto with heart, body and soul……….start now with He Who Fears the Wolf………….and continue on until you have to wait in line for the next hard copy to be released!
61 HOURS, is yet another great read by Lee Child! I’ve read at least 12 in the series and everyone is a great read right up to the last page!
The main character and lead main man, Jack Reacher is 6 feet 5 inches tall and knows martial arts and weapons and is an all around dangerous individual. In the movie, Jack Reacher, Tom Cruise, way less than 6 feet tall plays the Jack Reacher character!!!!!! I would really have liked to see Jason Stratom be that character!!!!!!
I understand that all of the books have been “optioned” to be filmed so let’s hope they pick a bigger person for the Jack Reacher role!
Don’t get me wrong, Tom Cruise is a great actor but ……………..you know what I mean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you are just interested and have not yet started reading any of the books, start out with THE AFFAIR. It isn’t the 1st book but the story line starts out here. This is where you learn about the history of Jack Reacher and what happened to create the situation he has lived with for many many years and more about his earlier life.
Lee Childs has also added several “novellas” to the series. These short books as I call them are great reads…………great stories without all of the filler material such as detailed descriptions about the terrain and character background. They really are worth a look and see!

The book club (Proof of Heaven Book Club) has no official name yet………..but our purpose is to be a forum for questions about death and dying and NDE’s!
As we all know, there are “certain proofs” of very few things! Perhaps none! BUT we can explore our ideas and thoughts and worries and questions without judgments and condemnations!
Notice below…………a very well-known man recently died……….one that we should all be thankful for! His words in his final years should be noted!
In the paper this morning:
Nobel laureate, Charles H. Townes, laser co-creator speaks of strong faith: died recently at 99 years of age, “My own view is that while science and religion may seem different, they have many similarities, and should interact and enlighten each other.” Born in 1915 to Baptist parents who embraced an open-minded interpretation of theology. His monumental breakthrough: “came to me in the tranquil morning hours, the solution to the problem suddenly appeared to me in a moment of religious revelation”.
This dovetails with our discussions yesterday.
Challenge: We discussed what might have happened to Dr. Alexander’s wife after the book/major life changes brought on by the books. See what you can find about what happened and hopefully how happy she now is.
My thought: The situation could have brought them closer together not drive them apart…………why didn’t it? Theory and facts?
After reading Proof of Heaven and The Map of Heaven it amazed me to learn how many people have not only read them but have had NDE’s (near death experiences) themselves or have had family members that have! And how many people have bought several copies of both books and passed them out to family and friends!
I asked a few of my friends that I knew had read the books if they would like to get together and talk about the books and any personal experiences that they might have had or heard about. Long story short………today we had 6 people sit down in the garden room in the warm sun on a cold day to talk about the books and the subject of them! 2 more people wanted to be here but couldn’t arrange it this time.
Some of the topics that we discussed:
1. How does is this book different from the many other books on the subject?
2. Did reading the books change the way you think about GOD, Heaven, Death, and Life after death?
3. How did the recent incident about a popular book/movie about a 4 year old child that claimed to have died and gone to Heaven and come back make you feel? Did it remove the credibility of Proof of Heaven for you?
4. 5 of the 6 gave “testimonials” of their experiences with death and dying.
5. How was the wife of the author of Proof of Heaven effected by the book and all of the publicity that followed?
6. The above discussions led to talk about religions, life challenges, and the lessons of life that we learn here on earth.
7. Major point…………..nobody at the meeting was afraid of dying. We all think that dying is just a change from one form into another….like going from black and white TV to color with high-definition! A lifting of the veil!
I’ve read 100’s of books! And this is the first book club meeting I’ve ever attended much less created.
That’s really something to think about!
