The Face in the Mirror

When you look in the mirror, what or rather WHO do you see?

Do you see your physical self…………OR  do you see your spiritual self?

Which is more important?

If you let your self-image (physical) be the dominating force that drives you, you may be in a continuous battle trying to improve or change how you look………too short, too tall, too fat, too thin, etc. All of that you probably can change……..so if that is what is important to you then have at it!

BUT if your spiritual self is more important…..then work toward being happy………….work toward being a better person that is happy with everything including how they look (your physical self) and what they are (your spiritual self)!

When you let go of how you look and  concentrate on what you are as a total person………….you will feel FREE!

And you will relax and be a different person.

Which One Works and Which One Doesn’t?

ASSIMILATION OR SEGREGATION?

WHICH ONE WORKS AND WHICH ONE DOESN’T AND WHY?

Assimilation works! Segregation doesn’t!

Segregation! Many attempts have been made since the beginning of time to “keep the good from the bad, the hot from the cold, the ripe from the rotten, the white from the black and vice versa.”

Going literally back to the beginning of time, after GOD made the Heavens and the Earth and all that in them is…………….HE gave charge to his Angels to populate the newly created “world”. We all assume that everything just popped up and was perfect within one or two days………well, a week at the most! But, that just isn’t the way it happened!

The task of populating the earth proved to be much more difficult than the Angels had anticipated. Each new world had different conditions that had to be met before “beings such as animals and species of higher intelligence” could exist and thrive and multiply.

So the task was assigned and began to take shape…………The Angels decided that they would try out 5 different types of intelligent beings and place them at different places with different living conditions and monitor them to see which group did better. They would give the different groups 5 Earth years to “live as best they could” and then evaluate each group to see if changes had been made within the groups. The story goes on for eons but the bottom line was, the groups that did the best did not isolate themselves from their neighbors but rather remained friendly with them to the extent of intermarrying and creating alliances for protection and enjoyment.

There is so much in the news these days about groups fighting each other as nations, religions, and gangs, families, etc. Where will all of this lead us? It could lead us to annihilation………….and perhaps that has happened many times before: “There is nothing new under the sun.”

If God made us all in His image then we all are part of the whole………………no one is greater than another so why segregate…..for any reason……………..live and let live and work together for the common good. “Peace on Earth and Goodwill to all men!”

AN ULTIMATE TRUTH LEADING TO PEACE AND HAPPINESS

Over the last year I’ve had a chance to review and evaluate my views on being a good person by helping others. After many discussions with friends about their feelings and mine, I have reconciled myself to One “Ultimate Truth” that for me enlightens my path and places me in a place of peace and happiness.

Each one of us has the insight and guidance from “above” through Grace to know what our true path is and how to stick to it. If we pay attention to our own paths and allow others to do the same, we are recognizing their right to choose how and what they will do with their lives. WE are not responsible for any other soul here on Earth or in Heaven. We each are here in this lifetime to learn and help when asked and we are able to do it, but ultimately we are here for ourselves to complete our missions for this lifetime. Keeping that in mind……we don’t overwhelm our selves and our lives by being “too overtly involved in the lives of others”. We respect their God given rights and abilities to take care of themselves.

Loving people find it very hard to not try to “over help” with ideas and advice of all kinds as to what should and should not be done in life situations. If we realize that all actions are right. They all lead to lessons learned one way or another. There may be better or easier roads to take but all roads lead to GOD.

Spend your time “fixing yourself”! If you are asked for help and can give it…………give it with no strings attached! No conditions…………..or judgements either.

GIVE everyone the benefit of the doubt, especially yourself!

One of the Worst Things YOU DO!

WE ALL do it………….it’s so easy…………TAKING THINGS FOR GRANTED!

Why do we do it? Because we get caught up in life! Everyday activities take over and suddenly something that is special and major in our lives becomes forgotten (taken for granted)!

  1. An expected inheritance…..The old saying, “Don’t count your chickens until the eggs hatch.” is really good advice! Until you actually get the money in your hands, it isn’t a done deal…….maybe not even then if someone “disputes the will”! So taking expected good fortune for granted is not a good plan.
  2. “I am in line for that job“, so I’ll go ahead and buy that bigger house now….why wait?! Indeed…………..guess what? The nephew of the boss or owner of the company just graduated and needs some nice place to work to support their daughter in style. Being more qualified or “in line for the job” doesn’t mean “squat”!
  3. I can always rely on Mom and Dad to take care of me……….and always being there for me…………..no example needed here…but…think today’s traffic, people on drugs, guns everywhere, etc.!!!!
  4. We’re young and just married and we will live happily ever after……………think heavy traffic, industrial accidents, terrorism, illness, boredom, depression………..
  5. Somebody does something for you regularly a. extra money b. extra support psychologically c. takes your kids to school daily d. brings you a pie once a month e. sends you a birthday card every year f. cooks your meals g. tells you that you look nice! Would you miss these things if they stopped?
  6. Perhaps the biggest and most dangerous mistake we make is taking those we love for granted!

I started to make a list of things here but after some thought…………YOU SHOULD STOP AND THINK ABOUT THOSE YOU LOVE AND THE THINGS IN YOUR LIFE AND HOW BLESSED YOU ARE THAT YOU HAVE THEM IN YOUR LIFE AND WHAT YOUR LIFE WOULD BE WITHOUT THEM IN IT!

DON’T WAIT UNTIL IT IS TOO LATE…….DON’T REGRET NOT DOING THIS OR THAT!

GET UP RIGHT NOW AND TELL THEM THAT YOU LOVE THEM AND APPRECIATE THEM AND ALL THAT THEY MEAN TO YOU!

#5 Lesson Learned in 2015

#5 LESSON LEARNED IN 2015 (and the last for 2015)

This one is really a “doosie”…………we think that everybody would want our stuff…….living or dead! WRONG!  They don’t want your stuff, your money but not your stuff. They like, collect, live with and crave things (stuff) that they like….so when you die……….pretty much, people just want your money!

That’s why;  1. A lot of people leave their things to charity instead of people in the family or not. Advantages: donations can lower the estate taxes and therefore make the “leavings” (and money) add up to more for their memory and putting the money where THEY want it and not the government. 2. Young people today want to restore Mustangs or Corvettes or whatever they grew up with……….people of other ages collect and enjoy things different every 10 years (decade) SO what is important to us is not necessarily what is important to other generations. We collected china and silver…………youngsters to us couldn’t care less about formal dinners, etc…..stainless steel is plenty good for them (unless you are super rich and want to prove it.)……..and that is only 1% of the population so you get my point!

So what are we gonna do?  Ideas: 1. Donate to charities and foundations(money and things) that they can use the money generated to continue museums and TV (PBS), etc. 2. Give items away to people in or out of the family that want to continue the tradition of saving certain items. 3. Not wait until we die to distribute “things”…………..do it along. Share money, things now and watch the people enjoy it while we are alive….after we’re dead……..we won’t care………by hey, now we do!

It is hard sometimes to realize we won’t live forever……..and some people don’t ever want to think about it……….but we want to plan ahead and make the life and death issues easy now and then.

That’s my story and I’m stick’n to it!

Book Review, The Collector Series by Chris F. Holm

THE COLLECTOR SERIES, BOOKS, #1 DEAD HARVEST, #2 THE WRONG GOODBYE, #3 THE BIG REAP…..#4 “In the works”! Probably……….

Every once in a while we all find a strange, unusual, crazy but fun book by a “new to us” author. Chris Holm has created what he calls “fantastical noir”! He says, “Gonzo pulp, urban fantasy, paranormal mystery and maybe part science fiction.”

After reading the first two books I call it a very interesting storyline about good and bad people caught up in a war between Heaven and Hell and the demons in the middle! What keeps you reading is “caring about the characters”. Ordinary people make deals with the devil/demons not necessarily for fame and glory but to save a loved one. What happens to them afterwards is where the story line picks up. Are they doomed to Hell forever…………why are they? ….what are they? OR will they find a way of redemption and regain the Grace of God and the Angels!? I’m REALLY pulling for Sam to make it back!

The reading is fast paced! I can see a movie or a TV series based on these books!

For those of you with an adventurous spirit………read the first book….you will either like it and move on to the others in the series or hate it and send me a really strong comment on my blog!

#4 TOP LESSON LEARNED 2015

AFTER I POSTED THE TOP 3 LESSONS I LEARNED IN 2015 YESTERDAY I REMEMBERED #4………….WHAT’S MOST IMPORTANT IN OUR LIVES!

I believe we all need reminding what is most important in our lives……..constantly! Why? We are living so fast, there are so many distractions (technology……….smart phones, I-pads, LIFE!) that are out there to pull us away from what really is important to us….to our well being….to our HAPPY!

SO………..think about this! HOPE VALLEY, somewhere out west a hundred years ago. Where the air is clean, the water is pure, the scenery is magical, GOOD PREVAILS EVERYTIME…….YES, EVERYTIME!!!!! HOPE IS ETERNAL! PICTURE “CRISPY CREAM DONUTS WITH THAT WARM MELTED SUGAR COATING” RIGHT OFF THE BELT! THAT IS THE FEELING!

WANT TO GO? WELL, WHO WOULDN’T? BUT HOW? WHEN?”

“When Calls the Heart”………….the Hope Valley Saga….THE HALLMARK CHANNEL!   A classic is born!!

This is the 3rd season……..plus a couple of in-between specials (sorta like a novella book)…..to broaden the story lines.

Rich girl goes west to find her destiny as a teacher in the wild wild west a hundred years ago! Along the way a Royal Mounty young gentleman becomes part of the story. A “stop in the road” becomes a new little town. Lost people find their lives here. Right doing and love and hope abound as the story of these people unfolds!

The New Years Eve special just showed on TV and the 3rd season starts February 21st! If you haven’t found this treasure, get the DVD’s and catch up before February. Save the DVDs and pass them on to every family you can. Family entertainment laced with many lessons to be learned about being HAPPY abound here!

My Top 3 Lessons I Learned This Year

#3….You can’t and shouldn’t try to change people!

Yes, I know you think you can save them a lot of heartache because you’ve “been there and done that”! But the key point here is THEY HAVEN’T BEEN THERE AND DONE THAT! Think about it, what is the first thing a child will do if you say don’t do this or don’t do that? Yep, they can’t wait to do it……….(must be great if you don’t want me to do it!)  Don’t touch that stove it will burn you……………I know because I’ve done it……..just trust me! Yeah, right!

We learn by doing. Each person learns in a different way. How do you know what cold is if you don’t know what hot is?

We are on this planet to learn. So you do your learning and let others do theirs! Give suggestions if asked, help if help is really what they want, and don’t finance and expect them to follow your advice just because you threw some money into the pot! Don’t enable!!!!! PERIOD!

When you are no longer helping………………get out of the way!!!!!!!!!!!

#2. PROOF OF HEAVEN! YES! THERE REALLY IS PROOF!

Actually, the book itself didn’t convince me that there is life after death….I already believed that………BUT it validated what I already believed.

The book  started a book club of people who had read the book and were interested in talking about the book’s “lessons” and that led to other areas such a “quantum physics” …..the NEW physics that isn’t new but few people know about it. It put all of my beliefs into perspective and made everything I believe fit into what I’ve always believed to be the TRUTH of who we are and where and how we got here!

#1 KNOWING WHEN TO LEAVE!!!!!

THIS SIMPLE SENTENCE IS PERHAPS THE MOST IMPORTANT GIFT WE POSSESS! Somehow I have always known when to “leave”. In relationships, partnerships, family arguments, jobs, volunteer work, friendships, etc.  I JUST HAD A “FEELING ABOUT IT”………….and after I left I had this wonderful sense of relief like a cloud had lifted from over my head!

Oprah Winfrey was interviewed on her program several years ago about what in her life had made the biggest difference in getting her to where she is now (WOW! At the top of her game!). Her reply was, “I’ve always known when to leave!”

I’ve thought long and hard about that and I believe that we “know” when our lives are not in the proper alignment by having “that feeling” that something is wrong and we “feel” bad. AND on the other hand when things are going “right” we “feel” GOOD about it. That “knowing” is our gift of GRACE! If we learn to listen to our intuitions (feelings) and act on them……………then we walk in GRACE and learn to walk in the paths of righteousness and fulfill our life’s plan.

Fall TV Review (From my seat only)

In short: Some were good, some were REALLY good.

Some were BAD, some were REALLY BAD.

Those opinions are completely mine and opinions are “in the eyes of the beholder”!

One of my favorite shows this year was THE BASTARD EXECUTIONER…and it has been cancelled. I will say that the end of supposedly just season one ended with a conclusion that could have continued………but it did end with a pretty good ending!

FARGO………………….I didn’t like it! AND I may be one of maybe only 3 people on earth in that category…………..BUT I didn’t like the “characters”………….The acting was superb! Top quality………….but I just didn’t care about the characters and their lives.  Season One was wonderful! And I cared about all of the characters! I’m looking forward to Season Three!

I had conversations with several people who thought FARGO was sensational. AND it brought up discussions why I didn’t. I’ve thought hard and long about why and the conclusion still stands……….I didn’t like the storyline or the characters……..so there I’ve said it!

BLACKLIST………….SO FAR THE STORYLINE HAS HELD MY INTEREST…………BUT the show is dangerously near crashing in my opinion if they don’t clear up the relationship between Red and Lizzie! They have put that issue aside too long now. Part 2 of Season 1 starts back in January ( alas now there are so many parts of seasons that it is increasingly hard to keep up with them all!!!!!!!!!!!!!! )

AMERICAN HORROR STORY……HOTEL!

WOW! Nudity………….gore…………..wild story line!  AND Lady Gaga!

Lady Gaga does some pretty good acting as do many others in the show………I’ve watched a lot of it…………but the storyline and the excess gore and just plain awful situations are painful to watch!SOOOOOOOOOOOOO! WHY did I watch it? GREAT question! Why do any of us watch horror movies, films, TV shows?  I think it is because we like to be shocked…….scared………repulsed…………do we have serious problems? Ha!

THE BIG BANG THEORY! This show is one of the only comedies that have held my attention for several years……..Modern Family, In the Middle……….have held on for too long…………..everybody is growing up and they’ve run out of humor…….time for new shows …and

THE 100 season 3 starts soon! WHEN CALLS THE HEART  on the Hallmark CH started this past weekend. Oprah’s show, Super Soul Sunday is very good.

Different folks like different TV shows………………that’s what the DVR’s are far!

UPDATE/HALLMARK CHANNEL/NEW MOVIES/SERIES, ETC.

Halloween  MOVIE WITH THE GOOD WITCH! If you’ve missed it, try to go back and watch it!!!!!!VERY GOOD!  As usual, there are a lot of “lessons to be learned”………..and as always, the good people win!

Also if you missed the last movie with Tom Selleck as Jessie Stone………track it down on demand! Another great performance and an excellent story line!!!

Thanksgiving movies starting this week/weekend………….and Christmas movies (12) start soon too! Just record them and watch during the holidays when you can. They are uplifting! Scenery is great as are the people!

SO WHAT’S NOT TO LIKE!!!!!!!!!!!??
